I knew that moving here to Indianapolis would include having to live in snow. But I still believe that a GA girl does not belong in the snow! There were flurries before through December with a little coverage, but the first "real" snow was in the beginning of January. Jackson (my yellow lab and baby boy) loves the snow, while Guinness (my chocolate lab and baby girl) hates it!

Then a few weeks later we really got some snow! I was at that desperate point where I HAD to go to the grocery store and I knew it was going to snow but it wasn't supposed to start until that afternoon. So I was going to go out before it hit. Before I even got out of bed it had already started! By the time I was dressed and ready to go to the store it had already gathered about 2 inches. Here is what it looked like before the big snow on February 6th
and this is my poor car, the view from driving and my trip to the grocery store! This is the first time I have ever had to drive in anything like this! I was freaking out the entire time!
and this is the view at 3:30pm....they called this a blizzard! I didn't think it was like a blizzard, but I guess they take in consideration of how much snow falls, how much time, and the wind?
This was at 11pm...it's strange, cause when it snows it is bright outside all through the night! I could look outside at 2am and it is still bright. On this particular day we got about 6" but that was on top of 2"-3" that was still on the ground. It didn't get above freezing for almost 2 months! The snow from Feb 6 stayed on the ground and then there was an even bigger snow!
On February 13 we got what they called the biggest snow storm since 2004! Turns out it was bad enough that they were shutting down the entire city! You know it must be bad if they were shutting down! This is what it looked like the day before, we still had about 4" on the ground and in other places it was deeper.
This is what it looked like at 2:30am when it got started! And it continued to snow for almost 24 hours!
This was the next morning! In total we got about 18 inches! I have never in my life seen anything like this! It was hard to walk in! Your feet would sink through the snow and it was hard to lift your foot out each time to take steps!
Jackson loves this stuff! The only problem is that it came up to his chest, so instead of being able to walk in it, he had to hop like a bunny!.jpg)

He would chase the snow flakes!.jpg)

This is me trying to walk in this stuff! Jackson would chase after every little thing that was blowing by in the snow so I ended up falling a couple of times cause he would take off running and I couldn't get my feet out of the snow fast enough!
In some areas your foot would just be on top of the snow and in others you would sink! By the time it was all done there was almost 2 feet on the ground! This was Valentine's Day!
