I have been dying to go eat at Pura Vida which is Hector Santiago's restaurant in Atlanta. So tonight Stacey and I went out there to see what it was about! Tonight was also the night that Top Chef is airing and we were hoping to see Hector while we were here, but unfortunately because of contracts with Bravo and Top Chef, the chefs can't be in their own restaurant on the viewing nights!
But none the less, Stacey and I loved everything about this place! We ordered a total of 6 dishes and then were given 2 more dishes on the house :)
We started out with a pitcher of White Wine Sangria! YUMMY!
ga trout ceviche, lemon-lime marinate, aji jelly, canchita corn & milk
steamed Coconut Buns, smoked pilon pork belly, tamarind sauce, shaved cabbage, cilantro & pickled chilies
These are called Congo chilies! They pack a punch when you first eat them and are extremely hot for about a minute then it is gone!
el burrito, 3 chile chicken barbacoa, crema mexicana & tomatillo sauce
asado de tira, boneless short rib flash grilled to medium rare, charcoal beef jus, aji pebre verde sauce
hanger steak pinchos, adobo caribe rubbed skewers, cilantro chimichurri
And our last dish was a scallop special with a cilantro chimichurri
And as a gift, Hector had them bring us out 2 desserts! The dish on the right was amazing but I can't remember exactly what it was called! But it was 3 or 4 different chocolates in 1 dish layered together!
After dinner, S and I decided to go to the Warren for some drinks and to hang out with William and the gang!
