Accidents and Dumplin's

Well, tonight Dwain came home for a shower run (they get one every third or fourth day) and he was able to be home for about 8 hours! As he was getting dressed to head back out to the field, I had to leave to go pick the kids up from school and then Dwain was going to meet us at Walmart...I was going to get groceries and he wanted to find something to help keep his feet warm! But as we got there, he called and said he wouldn't have time that he had to just go straight back to work. We said our good-byes, he talked to the kids and then we hung up.
About 10 minutes later he called me again. When I answered he said, "Hey, you know where that stop sign is at the end of the road the kids school is on." I said yes....he says yeah you'll have to come out here I just totaled my car!!! I kind of panicked a minute and said you did what?! He said yep, totaled it! So I left my grocery cart behind and got the kids so we could get out to where he was right away. It wasn't too bad, he didn't have a scratch on him...but his car did! The chick that hit him smacked into him so hard that it broke his axel on the front tire!

After they cleared the accident we went home so that we could "re-group" and Dwain could relax, eat dinner and then go back out to the field. He came home...but didn't relax...he immediately started looking for a new vehicle and stressing over having to come up with a down payment!
I made chicken and dumplin's for dinner and miss Abby helped! It was too cute...I had her up at the counter helping me with the dumplin's just like I used to do when I was her age and my grandma was making up a pot of her famous dumplin's! After years of practice, I think I finally got mine to be just like hers!
