Cavender's Seasoning

Ok...if you haven't tried this seasoning yet...you must! I came across it one day at Publix and the guy was cooking Tilapia with this Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning. I had never had Tilapia up to that point (this was a while ago!) and loved it instantly! You can use it on fish, chicken, beef, veggies, etc. Although my recommendation is to use it on fish and veggies the most. Now, be careful because it is a little salty, so a little goes a long way!

What I do with it is, take 2-4 fillets of Tilapia, pat them dry and sprinkle both sides with the Cavender's well. In a saute pan, heat up some olive oil and saute the fish 3-4 minutes on each side. I usually serve this with rice or roasted potatoes!

I recommend Filippo Berrio Extra Light Olive Oil (not extra virgin because extra virgin is not made for sauteing or frying, just for flavoring! Here's a tip - use Extra Light Olive Oil when frying or sauteing when you don't need the flavor and use Extra Virgin Olive Oil when roasting, sauteing when you want the flavor and to finish dishes like drizzling over a salad, pasta, etc!)

A few other suggestion on using the seasoning:
*Sprinkle a little onto some white rice to add a kick!
*Sprinkle some on cut up potatoes, skin on, with a little olive oil and roast them in the oven.
*Sprinkle it on some cut up squash, zucchini, red and green peppers and onions with a little olive oil, wrap it into a pouch of aluminum foil and grill it or bake it in the oven! This is delicious!!!
Bon Appétit!
