4-H Event with Chef Amanda

A few weeks ago, Chef Amanda asked if I would do an event with her. She was doing demonstrations at a 4H Event. So Thursday rolled around and it was time to go! I got to her place and we rode together out to Anderson, IN to the 4H grounds. She had 3 recipes she was demonstrating and I was assisting her. We had 2 different 30 min. windows in which we had to demo the recipes.
Linda (a coordinator for 4H), Chef Amanda, Paul Poteet from TV Channel 6 and Matt Rust from WQME Radio

The first was a Sausage and Pepper Popover. I chopped chives while she got the batter together, then we switched sides. I started browning sausage while she chopped the onion and peppers. The funny thing was that the hot plate we were using wasn't getting hot fast enough! So it was taking forever to get the sausage browned! Amanda asked how it was going and my only response was "slow"! I got a pretty good laugh out of the 370 something crowd! We got that recipe done and moved off the stage to the kitchen where we relaxed a little and prepared for the next demo.
The next demo was a Spaghetti Squash Lasagna and a Turkey Tortellini Soup. We started with the Lasagna. Amanda chopped the onions and garlic and I sauteed them until soft. Then I added 2 cans of stewed tomatoes and some seasoning. Then I had to take the sauce to the back to finish while she started the soup. Then I joined her back out there with the finished sauce and finished Lasagnas.
Once we were done with this demo, we cleared up and got back home! Since I was busy on the stage, I wasn't able to make as many pictures as I normally do! But I did give my camera to one of the photographers and she was able to get a few for me!
