2nd Week in Baking and Latin

Well, this is the 2nd week in class and I am loving it. In baking we are doing breads! I have never done breads before so I am really paying attention to that part of baking class. Now, one thing I have never been able to do is make biscuits! I know, I know...being from the south, you would think I could do that with no problems, but I never could do it...until today! Our group had to do the soft dinner rolls and country biscuits.
Look at how perfect they turned out! And they tasted great too!
Then in Latin our menu was from Mexico and we made lots of good stuff...again! We made Nopales, which is cactus!

Sopa del Ajo - Garlic Soup
Arroz Blanco (White Rice), Nopales en Chipotle Adobado(Nopales in Chipotle Sauce), Pavo al Vapor en Recado Colorado (Yucatan-Style Steamed Turkey in Achiote Sauce), Friojles Reritos (Well-Fried Beans), Pico de Gallo and Salsa de Jitomate Cocida
Then Carla got a little creative and made a second plate in a different way
Churros and Hot Chocolate
