4th of July

Each year since I was a kid, our family has gathered at my grandma's house to walk 1 block away to sit in the same place every 4th of July and watch the parade. After the parade, we usually eat BBQ and Hash (my families version of Brunswick Stew...but much better!) And if we are crazy enough, we will walk around to see all the arts and crafts booths.

This year I was driving to meet up with everyone and I was going to be there a little early (which never happens) but instead it turns out I missed the whole thing! The parade has started at 10am for 37 years and they decided last year to change it to 9am...well no one told me so I got there just in time to catch the last 10 or 15 minutes of it!

I usually get a lot of pictures...but this time I didn't get but a few!

One of the highlights of the parade each year is waiting to see what Harold Allen has done this year! He has a sceptic tank company and he will do everything from sit on a toilet that is overflowing, dunk his head in a toilet, etc. Yes...it is a small town and these are the things we look forward to and what makes us laugh!!!

Then Harold came running up the road to catch up I guess...toting a bottle, wearing orange crocs and wearing what looks like an adult diaper!

Lauren met up with me and we went and walked around to see what we could find and who we could run in to this year.
