Trip with Kids Day 4 - Lincoln/Roswell, NM and Amarillo, TX

We got up early this morning and left Alamogordo to drive 312 miles to Canyon, Texas. Snow fell overnight and the mountains were covered in snow! Beautiful sight!

But Dwain couldn't stay awake!

On our way back into Texas, we decided to drive through Lincoln, NM where we found out is where Billy the Kid became notorious! The whole town is set up like a western town and they have a little area where they still do re-enactments!

Next we drove through Roswell, NM...because we had to! We stopped at the McDonald's there and it was shaped like a spaceship!

Then we went to the International UFO Museum and Research Center

We saw all kinds of things! They had a replica so to speak of the alien they "supposedly" autopsied from the crash

While we were there we added a tack to the map and marked Athens, Georgia on it :)

We left Roswell and headed back into Texas on our way to Canyon...

It was flat and there was nothing in sight for miles and miles so Dwain and I played a game he used to play in Iraq when they had to pass the time...next thing we realized almost 4 hours had passed!

Before we got to Canyon, we drove through Hereford which says it is the Beef Capital of the World!?!

And this is probably true! Because we would drive by fields and fields of thousands of cows! It was weird when we first saw it from a distance I asked Dwain if it were a burned out part in the grass and Dwain says no I think it is cows! It was crazy how many cows were packed in here!

Dwain took a video...its a little shaky, but you can see that there are just tons and tons of cows out here! This went on for miles and miles and miles!

We got to our hotel in Canyon and took a little time to relax before we ventured out for dinner...the kids took it as an opportunity to wrestle with daddy...and I would get sucked in from time to time!

We drove into Amarillo to go to dinner...

and we stopped by Cadillac Ranch first! It was pretty cool to see this place in person! Dwain and the kids waiting on me to stop taking pictures! lol
