Today we went to the Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Canyon, Texas. 
Once we got there, the first thing we saw were 2 giant longhorns in a field near the front gate! I was floored because I had never seen one!
The canyon was beautiful and it blew us away! We couldn't believe that we were driving through some of the flattest land ever and then all of a sudden...a canyon!

After the canyon we went back to the hotel and the kids got in the pool!

Then we got ready and went out to see the Historic Route 66 spot in Amarillo, Texas...but there wasn't anything like they said there was! Online it said it had shops and restaurants...but we saw nothing but a sign!
Then we went to eat at the famous Big Texan home of the 72oz. steak challenge! We took a bunch of pictures outside before we went inside :)

And it is wall to wall with deer heads and other stuff

You have to eat 72oz. steak, side salad, baked potato, 3 shrimp, a dinner roll and drink a glass of sweet tea all in 1 hour and the meal is free! If you don't finish...you pay!

I had my own "mini-challenge" - 18oz steak (1/4 of the 72oz.), side salad, baked potato, dinner roll, 3 shrimp and a drink! I didn't make it either! lol
