Sunday Brunch

Some of you may have read my email I sent out about my Sunday Brunch incident! Just in case you haven't...here is the deal!

I got in to my first class for Dining Room Operations, 3 weeks ago, and she had us fill out a questionnaire to get an idea of who we were. The first question said, "What do you know about this class?" My answer was...learning about dining room operations, because I had no idea!!! But I quickly learned it was me being a server in our school restaurant for the quarter! Now, those of you who know me, know I have NO industry experience and have never served food in a restaurant, ever! I pretty much began to have small panic attacks and had a lot of anxiety about what was to come! I had to get a tuxedo shirt with a bow tie, black apron, etc. Again...more anxiety!

So, my first service was last Sunday and let me tell you...I did a pretty darn good job! The chef who runs the restaurant liked me so much she gave me a big table to end the day :) Now...I said I did a pretty darn good job...except for a tray of mimosa's I dropped on a guy! LOL Yes...I leaned over to hand him his mimosa, and he got to wear 2 others on his shoulder and lap!!!! I was mortified and wanted to crawl in a hole...but I pulled it together and got through it with my winning personality :) hehehe

This week was great! I got the hang of it and did so well, a regular who comes every week each quarter and has a standing reservation each week, said it was the best service they have had yet! So now I am going to be there regular server through the end of the quarter :)

If you are in the area, you must come eat brunch on Sundays! We are open from 11am to 3pm, but our last reservation is at 1:30pm. Next quarter it will be lunch and dinner, but no brunch. Brunch is $16 not including beverage, tax, and gratuity and dinner is $33 not including beverage, tax, and gratuity.

Here are some pictures of the dining room...and if you look in the back of the room there is a nice big window so you can see what they are doing in the kitchen! And we can set a table up for you right in front of that window and if you really want, we can put a table in the kitchen for you!
