6th Week and Half Way Point

It is hard to believe that we are already half way through the quarter! This time has flown by! Before I know it, it will be over and I'll be back in Atlanta! This week in backing we made
Rye Bread
Cinnamon Swirl Raisin Bread
and Lemon Meringue Pie
My group for the day - Me, Garrett, Kim and Christina
Cutting up the Rye Bread
and digging in!
Me and Kim
Then on Friday in Latin we decided to do a little friendly competition! Boys vs. Girls! Chef wanted all dishes completed and served at 3pm for tasting. Then we would line up our dishes vs. the boys dishes and compare look and taste! I loved the menu today! I was ready to dig in when I saw we were making empanadas!
Me and the girls - Maren (the birthday girl), Christina, LaShanda, Me and Kim
Chupe de Quinua - Quinoa Chowder
Salada de Chuchu (Brazil) - Chayote Salad
Patata Y Carne de vaca Empandas (Argentina) - Potatoe and Beef Empanadas with Chimichurri Sauce
Ceviche Mixto - Shellfish Ceviche
Feijoada (Brazil) - Bean Stew with Beef and Pork
Cuscuz de Tapioca Molho de Chocolate - Tapioca and Coconut Cake with Chocolate Sauce
The girls smiling with our dishes cause we got all 6 dishes completed by 2:59pm!
Our dishes lined up with the boys - they only got 4 done by 3pm...but they snuck a 5th dish in as he started the tasting!
Chef Frank comparing the dishes...the girls won! Actually we blew the boys out of the water!
I pigged out on the empanadas!
